Are you seeing what I’m seeing? Every time I’ve logged into LinkedIn, someone else is being Laid off. The unfortunate thing is the scale is happening with the larger corporations (White Collar Level) . I’ve seen Amazon, Meta, and Pepsi. These are Billion dollar companies trimming the budget in the form of people. Now this shift could be looked at in multiple ways… I choose to look at it this way…. America is changing the structure of the way they do business, and if we don’t hurry and tap in to the structure change we’ll be altering our lifestyles making some difficult decisions about our future and of the future of our children. I’m sure your asking.. Well what is the Structure Change? The change is everything society has taught us about being successful. You must have a Bachelor’s or Masters Degree (or better) to be selected, choosen, HIRED for the best positions most importantly the highest Salaries. Humm Yeah, but check this out…
The Small businesses, Sole Proprietors, Freelancers and Contractors are becoming the new American Dream. Why? How? We all know when the pandemic hit, it changed the trajectory of our normal. Placing employees on remote or Hybrid assignment. Now Having to work from home gave the W-2 employee a taste of what it feels like to be home with family and still make a living. At the same time companies saw what it looked like not have a office filled with employees and still have a well oiled operation. While the world had changed has we knew it, one thing remained the same. Americans love freedom! Honestly It felt like employees were more productive, and less stressed. Simply because they were no longer in the hustle and bustle of the 9-5 and everything that came with it. As the pandemic dwindled in American we began to think differently. Not going into the office just felt good. It gave us a new outlook on life. According too Apollotechnical.com now over 50% of Americas desire to work remotely (68%). Which brings me to my question. Why are some professionals changing the way they do their careers? Here's what I mean.. To date (May 18th 23’) 168,243 Men and women have been laid off according to layoffs.fyi.com However don't remain laid off. They are getting hired at smaller Firms/Companies or Starups. Yes, that’s right the white collar board members are sitting at a new table and it’s called Business Ownership …… feeling Free, Renewed and Refreshed ready to take on the world.
